Pink under shelf lighting, one fixed colour, 10mm wide, no controller needed. This SCOB strip packs 272 LEDs into every metre, so the light on the shelf below reads as one dot-free band, not a row of chips.

Where does pink shelf lighting actually work?

Pink earns its place on display shelving, where the stock is the subject: retail merchandising bays, salon product walls, bedroom alcove shelving and collectors' display shelves. It works as a colour wash rather than working light, so keep a neutral white source for anything you need to read under.

• Retail and salon: a 3-metre open shelving run pulls 27W, so four bays share one modest driver.
• Bedroom and living room: pink under a floating shelf throws colour onto the wall behind — kinder at night than a ceiling fitting.
• Indoor only: IP20 means dry rooms. Keep it out of bathroom zones and porches.

Does pink LED strip need a controller?

No. This is a single fixed pink, not a colour-changing RGB strip, so there is nothing to switch between and no controller in the circuit. It needs one constant-voltage 24V driver sized roughly 20% above the load. Four metres of shelf pulls 36W, which makes a 45W driver the sensible choice.

Run the wiring in parallel back to that driver rather than shelf to shelf. To make it dimmable, dim on the 24V side rather than a mains wall dimmer — our 24V LED drivers are listed by wattage.

How do I size and cut it to my shelf?

Measure the underside of each shelf, then round down to the nearest cut mark, spaced every 29.4mm along this strip. Order one continuous length up to 10 metres and cut on site, or order a separate piece per shelf. Cut only on the marked pads, with the driver unplugged.

1. Unroll the full length before switching on. A strip powered while coiled builds heat, ruins the adhesive and is a fire risk.
2. Fit an aluminium profile where the shelf underside is bare metal, or insulate it first.
3. Bench-test the run before committing the adhesive. It suits kitchen open shelving too.
