Why WEEE matters
The Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment regulations make producers and distributors responsible for helping to collect, treat and recover electrical waste. They also give customers a practical route for returning eligible equipment instead of sending it to landfill.
Electrical waste can contain materials that harm soil, water and wildlife when they are disposed of incorrectly. Repairing and recycling equipment preserves finite resources and reduces those risks.
How to arrange a return
Please obtain a return authorisation before sending any WEEE item. This lets our team confirm eligibility and give you the correct return instructions.
- Email sales@ukledlights.co.uk with your order number and details of the electrical item you want to return.
- Wait for the team to issue a return authorisation number and confirm the current returns address.
- Return the item within 28 days of buying the replacement product, following the packing and delivery instructions provided.
What the policy covers
The take-back service applies on a like-for-like basis to eligible electrical and electronic products sold through UK LED Lights. For example, when you buy a new LED light from us, we can accept an equivalent old LED light for responsible disposal.
The current policy excludes Christmas lights, household light fittings, household lamps and traditional filament-style bulbs. Contact us before returning an item if you are unsure whether it qualifies.
Recycle locally
You can also take electrical waste to an authorised local recycling facility. Do not place electrical items in general household waste.
