Under Shelf COB LED Strip | 480 LEDs/m 7.5W 50mm Cut 20m 24V IP20 - Warm White 2700K / 1 Metre is backordered and will ship as soon as it is back in stock.
Description
For long run under shelf lighting, this COB strip carries 20 metres from a single 24V feed — the longest one-feed run in our shelf range. One driver, one cable, one socket for an entire wall of open shelving.
Five colour temperatures are stocked: 2700K and 3000K warm white, 4000K natural white, 5000K daylight and 6500K cool white. The board runs 480 LEDs per metre at 7.5 W/m, measures 10mm wide, and is rated IP20 — indoor dry areas only. That density gives a dot-free line along the shelf underside rather than a row of visible pinpoints.
When is the 20 metre run the right choice?
Choose the 20 metre version when your shelving runs longer than one 5 metre reel covers. Long alcove shelving, library bays, retail display shelves and full-height shelving units all suit it, because a single 24V driver and one cable feed the whole line instead of three separate spurs.
- Open shelving walls: five shelves using 4 metres draw 30W, so a 45W driver clears the 20% margin.
- Bookshelves and alcoves: six alcove shelves on one circuit means five fewer driver positions in the plasterboard.
- Display shelving: long retail runs stay colour-matched, since every metre comes off one reel.
Why does 7.5 W/m run further than the 9 W/m version?
Lower current per metre. At 7.5 W/m a 20 metre run pulls 150W in total, where the 9 W/m board would pull 180W over the same distance, and that extra current drops more voltage along the copper. Cutting the load per metre is what extends the usable single-feed length.
Wire long runs in parallel from the driver, not in series, and size a constant-voltage 24V driver around 20% above total load. Never power the strip while it is coiled on the reel — trapped heat destroys the adhesive. Mounting on bare metal without insulation risks a short circuit.
What does the 50mm cut interval mean when sizing shelves?
You can only cut every 50mm, so each piece lands on the nearest 50mm below your measurement. A 780mm floating shelf takes a 750mm length, leaving a 30mm gap at one end that disappears once the strip sits inside an aluminium profile with a diffuser.
Measure the shelf underside, round down to the nearest 50mm, then total your lengths. Our Telford team checks run length and driver sizing on 2026 orders. Pair the strip with aluminium profiles and diffusers and a matched 24V constant-voltage driver. It suits kitchen open shelving too.
